RE: Annual Report of the President

Members of Memphis Chapter, TAI,

Congratulations on having completed our tenth year as a Tuskegee Airmen Chapter in the Memphis area.

This year we offered a combined total of three (3) Memphis Chapter Educational Assistance Fund and Aviation Assistance Fund (Scholarship) awards of $1000 each.

In February 2007 we hosted the MEMPHIS AVIATION PROFESSIONALS Annual Luncheon and Youth Awards. Our chapter also provided tickets for students to attend this luncheon at no cost to the students.

We allocated $1500 to be used by our members to conduct the June 2007 Summer ACE Camp for youth ages 14-18.

Throughout the 2006-07 School Year we continued our program of frequent Aviation in Schools visits where Aviation Professionals visit schools throughout the school year. Members participated in career days, gave motivational speeches, and conducted Project Aviator/Aerospace at Woodale High School.

In September 2007 at the MidSouth Airshow, we plan to provided volunteers to manage the seating areas for the US Navy Blue Angels family and guest, Press, and the Flightline "paid seating area". At the "paid seating area" our members collected thousands of dollars to benefit Mid-South Airshow Foundation designated charities.

Educators, Parents and Students continue to request our help in inspiring, motivating, and serving as role models for the "students of today" who will become the "leaders of tomorrow". Youth that we inspired, motivated and helped during the past 10 years are already some of the leaders and decision makers of today.

In order to continue to fund our youth programs, we expect to have a fund raiser in the near future. This is your Chapter. Let's work together to make the Memphis Chapter have another successful 10 years.

Thank you for your help and support!
